Bell Super Helmet Review

At a Glance

The Bell Super is an exceedingly well thought-out lid. Purpose built for the enduro riders and racers out there it offers excellent coverage combined with innovative features. Firstly it has been designed with full goggles management in mind, the visor can be raised by 30 degrees allowing the goggles to be placed underneath. You can also remove the visor and add the goggle retention clips should you wish to look totally retro. Styled on the Bell Custom 500 motorsport lid from the 50’s it has an air of classic style about it coupled with some modern technology such as full In-Mold construction.

We test the SixSixOne Evo AM Helmet

At A Glance

The Evo AM from SixSixOne is a new helmet that they are releasing mid-season. It’s been in development for some time and is aimed at the endure/all-mountain riders out there. Like all modern helmets, it is packed with tech to protect your noggin in the event of a crash. At its very core is a Contego Foam construction which decreases the energy transmitted in an impact by as much as 35%. Instead of filling the helmet with holes for ventilation they have made the holes large to increase airflow, there are 15 vents on the helmet in total.

Smith Forefront Helmet Review

At A Glance

Now for something completely different… Smith is known for their eyewear and their snowboard helmets, but they have just brought their A game to the mountain bike table to the Forefront. Firstly let’s get the obvious out of the way, the Forefront looks a little different. It’s not really styled like anything we have seen before, and it’s either love at first sight or the opposite. When we first laid our eyes on it, it wasn’t the looks that intrigued us most, but what was going on under the bonnet.

Giro Feather Helmet Review

At A Glance

A stylish endure helmet meets the female touch with the Feather from Giro! Based on the men’s Feature Helmet the Feather utilizes the same In-Mold polycarbonate shell to offer a lighter and safer construction. It’s a low-profile design with the In Form fit system as standard. Available in two sizes, S for 51-55cm heads and M for 55-59cm, there is a simple roller dial at the back to adjust the fit. With three color options that are not overtly pink or covered in rainbows, it’s a stylish and subtle female offering. The moto-style visor is adjustable which is a nice touch, and the interior padding is removable for easy cleaning.

Bontrager Lithos Helmet Review

At A Glance

The Lithos from Bontrager is a new helmet for them this year, aimed firmly at the trail riders and all mountain enthusiasts it adds to their already impressive collection of XC and road orientated lids. It features an In-Mold composite skeleton, which enabled the team to put plenty of vents into the lid without losing strength. The adjustment for fit is controlled by the “Micro-Manager” which is a twist wheel system at the back of the helmet.
